I remember well when we moved from Albany, NY to Pittsburgh, PA in 1981 our Bekins rep. told us about the Emerald Acres Pet Motel in Schenectady, New York. She had specialized in relocating pets for General Electric employees. We had such a successful experience that every time we moved after that we called the Emerald Acres Pet Motel to have them look in their pet relocation directory to tell us who to use. We actually used them directly again when my in-laws passed away in early 1985. They knew that to get a German Shepherd from Albany, NY to Tulsa, OK we would have to use Delta because the cargo doors on the planes used by American Airlines between Chicago and Tulsa, OK were not big enough to fit a number 10 dog crate.
